Description
Single-flute spiral end mill for CNC routers. Cutting diameter 4 mm, cutting length 22 mm, overall length 45 mm. Marking: 4x45x22.
Where it is used
- wood, plywood and furniture board;
- acrylic and other plastics;
- contour cutting and slotting where a Ø3.175 mm cutter is too weak.
Why a single flute
A single cutting edge leaves more room for chips. Plastics and acrylic heat up less and stick to the cutter less, and chips leave the cut freely.
Up cut
The spiral lifts chips up and out of the cut. The slot stays clear, and the cutter and material heat up less — which matters most for acrylic and plastics, which melt and stick to the tool when overheated. The bottom edge of the part comes out clean.
What to watch for
The spiral pulls the material upward, so clamp the workpiece securely — with clamps, vacuum or double-sided tape. On plywood, laminate and coated materials the top edge may fray slightly; if you need a perfectly clean top surface, leave a small allowance and make a finishing pass.
